After-School Program  Summer Day Camp

Our Mission

CaroJays Youth Programs, Inc. is an after-school program and summer day camp providing Camp Scholarships for school-aged children with organized activities and events to encourage learning, self-esteem, leadership, and creative personalities in a safe and caring environment.

After-School Program

Warm and responsive care is crucial for your children's healthy development.  Your children will be nurtured by loving caregivers.  We enrich the children's environment by participating in all activities with our actions, advice, and guidance.

The children are picked up at school followed by a snack and homework.  At CaroJays, education is very important.  We provide necessary homework assistance to help insure that each student is understanding of the content required of them.  Whenever possible, we get acquainted with your student's teachers so they are familiar with us and that we provide assistance and learning reinforcement.  Our basic After-School schedule follows:

 2:30 - 3:30   School Pickup/Snack Break

 3:30 - 4:15   Homework

 4:15 - 5:15   Activity/Project

 5:15 - 6:30   Quiet Time

Activities and projects are dependent upon time allowed and are relative to holidays, seasons, etc.  We provide full-day childcare on school holidays, and if there is inclement weather that would cause schools to close, care will be provided (if possible) on an emergency basis.  There are three Program Divisions based on the grade level of your child:

·  Leapers.  As children will surely grow by "leaps and bounds", this program is designed for the Kindergarten through 1st grade student.

·  Seekers.  As children want to know the “whys” and “hows”, this program is designed for the 2nd through 4th grade student.

·  Charters.  As a person would "chart" their way into new territory, this program is designed for the 5th through 7th grade student to enhance learning, self-discipline, leadership, and responsibility.

We thank the parents for the opportunity to care for their children, and our reward is to watch these children grow and mature as they progress from one grade to the next.

Summer Day Camp

Participation with the children continues with our Summer Day Camp as we lead by example.  We believe that learning is a lifestyle not just a necessity.  There are events and activities to challenge the children's thinking and to build on their scholastic learning such as Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Our programs encourage the children that, with their individualties, they can learn to work as a team, develop good sportsmanship, and understand the responsibility of  having and following instructions (rules).

Camp CaroJay is a fun place to spend the summer!  Our activities and events are organized with a tribal camp theme.  We provide everything while the campers provide CAMP SPIRIT!

In addition to daily meals, there are "tribal duties".  In addition to crafts, there are camp songs.  In addition to "Tribal Olympics", there are field trips.  In addition to "Reflections", there are "Tribal Councils".  In addition to all this, there are the little things:  making new friends, teamwork, planning, it's okay to get dirty, respect, honor, a Band-Aid can do wonders, trust, discipline, it's okay to laugh at myself, patience, forgiveness, confidence, and, of course, there's always a "fun spirit".  Our daily schedule includes such things as crafts, special activities, field trips, sports, singing, and MORE.

All Stars.  (Jr. Counselors in Training)  This is a summer leadership training program designed for the older student (8th  11th grade) who would attend Camp CaroJay to become knowledgeable of our procedures and traditions.  There is an individualized leadership program book to complete for evaluation.  With successful completion of this program, students will be recognized and presented their awards during our annual Ceremonial Tribal Council held in August.  As a result of this leadership program, these students would be prepared in later years for employment (ages 18-22) as Jr. Counselors to enhance our Camp CaroJay experience.

      We’ll see you at Camp!
